Sheriff David Clarke – Under Liberal Fire for Quite Some Time

I recently blogged about the Conservative Black Forum held by Rep. Allen West, and today decided to look into one of the people that was there; Sheriff David Clarke. He has evidently been having a sort of feud with the Milwaukee County Executive. Chris Abele, a democrat, made cuts at the public safety level by $14 million. Yes, cut the police instead of the bloat of administrative government. Here is a video about it:

From what little I have been able to look up right now, Clarke has come under fire from two judges: Jeff Kremers and Bill Pocan. Both seem to have been appointed by democrat Doyle when he was governor of Wisconsin. Pocan seems to have upheld something stating that Clarke has to lay off 48 deputies. It looks like it was supposed to be up to 61 people laid off, but the number was “offset only by deputy retirements over the last two months of 2011, resulting in 48 layoffs.”

There’s so much going on that you may find yourself spinning if you try and figure out all the drama going on in Milwaukee. Maybe there IS bloat in the police force, but it’s hard telling. I don’t know the politics of the area, but I’m willing to err on the side of the sheriff, who has conservative values. I can guarantee there is much more bloat in the bureaucracy that needs to go, as is the case all across America.

If anyone around that area has some means of helping Sheriff Clarke in any way, please do so. Lib talkers like to paint him as looney.
