After a comment on my post about tort reform, I was pretty curious on how many people were trial lawyers in Congress. I never really did any searching, but just merely wondered, I guess you would say. I honestly didn’t know where to start looking.
Thanks to a blog post on Hot Air, I found a great resource! This site doesn’t tell how many trial lawyers are in Congress, but it does have information on how much money has been donated to both Republicans and Democrats, who donated, and a host of other stats. So, thank you for bringing that site to my attention, Mr. Morrissey!
On to what this post is about. Since 1990, Lawyers and Lobbyists have given Democrats $851,571,089, and Republicans $351,615,176. For this election cycle alone, it says that Democrats have received $26,641,557, and Republicans $7,438,486. Let’s look a little more at that.
Going to the contributors page, we see that there is a group called the American Association for Justice. They seem to be pushing alot of money towards the Democrats, 96% out of $912,750 for this election cycle so far, and have invested the most out of all the other contributors from Lawyers. There’s a link to click on for them! Let’s check that out…
Whoa! That paragraph in itself is incriminating as hell! If you go back through the election cycles, you’ll see the millions that this group has donated to Democrats.
Can you imagine what people would say about this if they knew? It’s VERY obvious that tort reform is being blocked by the Democrats for money! This is totally unacceptable! Please get the word out about this. Everyone out there that have Democratic Congressmen, CALL THEM AND TELL THEM TO STOP BEING BOUGHT!

And to think that Howard Dean actually said they didn’t want to make enemies of trial lawyers …
To Dean I say – this isn’t about making enemies. This is about controlling runaway costs that you KNOW is being accelerated and passed down to the public.
I should say, this is about the Democrats REFUSING to control costs that they KNOW is hurting the public.
